Job Summary As a Licensed Optical Specialist, you will dispense spectacles and other optical products for both adults and children based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. Your role will include advising and assisting patients with various lenses and spectacle frames, ensuring they make informed choices regarding style, weight, and color. The pay range for this position does not include additional compensation from our spiff program. De-escalate and resolve member concerns efficiently. Create a safe and positive experience for all members. Commit daily to GOLD Member Standards including Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA) and maintaining a Fast, Friendly, Full, Fresh, and Clean environment. Club Standards: Work as a cohesive team to uphold GOLD club standards daily. Demonstrate commitment and pride in delivering a Grand Opening look every day by stocking all items and executing planograms. Maintain clear and accurate signage. Keep the club clean and organized, both inside and out. Know Your Business: Understand how to access and interpret production and financial performance reports for your department. Recognize the connection between consistent execution and the positive effects on business performance. Key Responsibilities: Verify order data entry and ensure that the original Rx provided matches the details in the system. Follow precise filing procedures. Facilitate sales by providing outstanding member service both in person and via phone, being transparent and approachable in communication. Take accurate measurements and ensure correct frame selections based on Rx power, utilize the lensometer, and maintain timely order processing. Drive sales and meet metrics by educating patients about available products, recommending those that meet their visual needs. Engage with members during downtime near the Optical section. Ensure compliance with privacy policies, including HIPAA, and assist members with eyeglass adjustments and repairs. Support the Optical Manager with opening and closing procedures, ensuring accurate financial transactions. Uphold all club policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this role. Qualifications: Must hold a valid license to practice as an optician and keep it active and up to date. Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred. High school diploma, college degree, or relevant experience in big box wholesale, retail, or optical settings is preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential. Open availability for shifts is a requirement for full-time positions. Must be at least 18 years old. Environmental Job Conditions: Most time will be spent moving around on hard surfaces, with occasional need to bend, handle, pull, reach, or stoop to examine merchandise. Frequent lifting of objects up to 20 pounds may be required, with assistance for heavier or awkward items. Work is performed primarily in a comfortable indoor space, but there may be exposure to temperature extremes and noise. Occasional use of cleaning agents may occur. Use Optical hand tools to adjust and repair members' eyeglasses, including inserting/removing nose pads and small screws. In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, this is a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors like location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $37.00.
