NSORNA Nisqually's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act requires all individuals who have ever been convicted of a sex offense to register with our Public Safety Department. This is true whether or not you have to register with another jurisdiction.NATURE OF WORK: This position is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and custodial duties for the Nisqually Tribe's government facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Technician Lead assists the Maintenance Supervisor with leading and overseeing the work of lower-level maintenance staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead Work Act as a lead worker and resource for lower level maintenance staff.Assist Maintenance Supervisor with making work assignments.Act as Maintenance Supervisor in his/her absence.Inspect work to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.Track and order supplies as needed.Check and maintain equipment to ensure it's in working order.Assist with coordinating maintenance work with other departments.Assist with building inspections to determine the type of work that is required.Determine most effective work methods to be used and demonstrate or instruct lower level maintenance staff. Housekeeping Vacuum and clean carpets; dust, mop, sweep, wax, buff, and strip hard floors.Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment.Clean and sanitize restrooms and kitchens and restock supplies as needed.Empty and clean garbage cans and ashtrays.Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling.Wash windows and glass doors. Building Maintenance Perform a variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.Perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other related repairs and projects.Clean gutters.Inspect for pests and damage and report as needed.Paint interior and exterior of facilities and other structures.Lead preparation, setup, and teardown for events and meetings.Lead the delivery, moving and assembly of office furniture, equipment, and supplies.Repair and service work for maintenance equipment. Grounds keeping Mow, weed eat, and water lawns.Weed, prune and maintain plants and other landscaping.Clean parking lots and collect and dispose of exterior debris.Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of repair techniques for building maintenance and related equipment.Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment utilized for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.Knowledge of blueprints and diagrams.Knowledge of the safe use of all tools and equipment used.Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies.Ability to assess problems and develop a course of corrective action.Ability to operate lawn mowers and a variety of other grounds keeping equipment, hand and power tools.Ability to exercise necessary precaution when using cleaners and solvents and to follow directions for use as specified by manufacturer.Ability to work safely and use and operate power tools within manufacturer's safety guidelines for use.Ability to work independently and be self-directed.Ability to perform strenuous work in difficult conditions and outdoors in varied weather conditions.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Five years' work experience performing custodial and maintenance duties.Two years' work experience performing general plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, maintenance, and installation.Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under the Nisqually Tribe's insurance policy.Must be physically capable of operating tools and equipment used in the performance of duties and meet other physical requirements of the position. Drug Screening: I understand that I will be required to undergo a drug screening test as a condition of employment (or engagement).
