Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to enhance safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness across the fleet. Execute FAI/CVI (annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations. Perform high-quality preventive maintenance inspections according to company procedures on all fleet vehicles and equipment. Carry out necessary maintenance repairs to ensure safety and reliability of fleet vehicles. Execute preventive maintenance, diagnose, and repair refrigeration units (reefers). Timely address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups. Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs based on manufacturer specifications across various systems. Document all work performed accurately on work orders. Provide mentorship and training to Fleet Technicians I and II, aiding in their professional development. May assume moderate supervisory responsibilities in the absence of Fleet Manager or Supervisors. Exhibit proficiency in electrical meter testing. Possess knowledge of controls and electrical systems (DC, low-voltage) and electric motors (DC). Manage electrical repairs and welding projects as required. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED. Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Experience: Medium/heavy duty truck technical training. Minimum of 2 years of formal training combined with 4 years of experience or 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair. Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: Familiarity with Annual Inspector Certification and Brake Inspector Certification. ASE certifications in Automotive or medium/heavy duty trucking. EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification. Sysco is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
