Job Overview: As a Skilled Trailer Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our UPS Transportation Trailers and Converter Dollies. You will leverage your expertise in diagnosing and repairing non-power equipment, including air brake systems and electrical components, ensuring high standards of safety and performance. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Documented experience in trailer mechanics. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and personal computers. A complete set of personal hand tools. Responsibilities and Duties: Ensure compliance with all D.O.T. regulations. Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing regularly throughout the workday. Maintain punctuality and a reliable attendance record. Adapt to varying shifts, additional hours, and overtime when service demands arise. Occasionally rest during your workday as required. Lift and maneuver equipment/packages weighing up to 70 pounds, and assist with items up to 150 pounds. Utilize hand capabilities for tasks requiring grasping and manipulation. Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles proficiently. Effectively use power and pneumatic tools. Wear personal protective equipment as necessary. Work in diverse environmental conditions, facing varying temperatures and exposure to different materials. Communicate effectively to promote a safe and productive work environment. Compensation and Benefits: The starting pay for this position is $28.90 per hour.
