Job Title: Actuary for Pricing Strategies Division: Finance - Actuarial Reports To: Lead Pricing Actuary - Cyber & Executive Risks Key Relationships: Underwriters and business managers, Beazley actuaries, Claims managers, Data Management and Ceded Reinsurance teams, regulators, external actuaries, brokers. Job Summary: Join our team as an Actuary focusing on pricing within the Cyber Risks Division and Executive Risks classes at Beazley. You will be instrumental in optimizing pricing strategies to ensure our market offerings are competitive and adequate. Key Responsibilities: Technical Provide dedicated pricing support for Cyber & Executive Risks underwriting teams. Develop and refine pricing tools to improve the accuracy of rate assessments. Conduct comprehensive portfolio and transactional pricing analyses to evaluate pricing strategies. Perform detailed segmental and trend analyses to inform pricing decisions. Monitor performance metrics such as rate changes and price adequacy. Maintain and enhance pricing models to meet established standards. Prepare and contribute to reports for key committees as necessary. Deliver training to underwriters on pricing techniques and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with pricing controls and regulatory standards. Participate in special projects, including liability transfer valuations and business planning analyses. Support and mentor junior team members to foster a collaborative environment. Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes that may affect pricing. Ensure data quality for pricing decisions by collaborating with Underwriters, Claims managers, and Data Management. Conduct regular documentation reviews of pricing models with necessary managerial sign-offs. Identify and implement improvements in pricing processes and methodologies. Engage in ongoing professional development and pursue necessary actuarial qualifications. Stay updated on specific responsibilities and continue to develop professionally. Personal Specification: Essential Criteria: Actuarial qualification. Relevant pricing experience, particularly within the specialty (re)-insurance market. Strong foundation in actuarial/statistical pricing techniques. Knowledge of reinsurance and capital application in pricing. Education and Qualifications: University degree in Mathematics or a related discipline. Skills and Abilities: Strong commercial and financial acumen. Proficiency in MS Excel with desirable skills in VBA, Access, Python, SQL, and R. Exceptional analytical skills with an attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
