Join our dynamic Construction team as an Excess Casualty Underwriting Expert! This position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule based in our Atlanta, GA or Addison, TX office. You will have the opportunity to engage with agents and brokers, ensuring a strong presence in the marketplace. If you possess a background in Excess Casualty and/or Construction, we would love to hear from you! In this Market Facing Underwriting role, you can expect to: Build and nurture relationships with broker partners and clients in the Construction industry to drive business success. Leverage your casualty underwriting expertise for risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to create and maintain a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business. Work collaboratively with multiple business units, including claims, finance, risk engineering, and technical underwriting, to gain deep industry knowledge. Utilize your negotiation and interpersonal skills to enhance relationships with key distribution partners in your assigned territory. Key Responsibilities: Underwrite and price a significant renewal book. Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities. Ensure accounts meet organizational standards and represent viable business opportunities. Conduct meetings with agents, brokers, and customers with a strategic and well-prepared approach. Lead negotiations of Terms & Conditions to finalize agreements. Drive cross-selling initiatives to enhance product density within your client portfolio. This position may be filled at either the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, depending on the applicant's experience and skills. Basic Qualifications for Underwriting Specialist: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND Knowledge of various lines of business, legal, and regulatory guidelines. Familiarity with quote timelines for new and renewal business. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Basic Qualifications for Executive Underwriter: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND In-depth knowledge of business lines and regulatory frameworks. Adeptness with time constraints for quotes. Experience using Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Strong verbal and written communication capabilities. Your compensation at Zurich depends on your role, location, skills, and experience, adhering to local laws for equitable pay. You may qualify for bonuses and merit increases. Underwriting Specialists can expect $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 plus a 10% short-term incentive bonus. Executive Underwriters for Excess Casualty may earn between $98,500.00 - $165,000.00 with a 15% short-term incentive bonus.
