Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ER Job Details: Work 12-hour night shifts 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks Holiday coverage based on unit needs Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience Minimum 2 years ER experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Preferred certifications: TNCC and ATCN (ENPC not allowed to replace PALS) Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed) Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion Must maintain sterile field during procedures Float between 4 facilities: main campus, Westgate, and two free-standing ERs in Litchfield Park and Glendale Facilities are approximately 30 minutes apart and can be floated mid-shift Must have own vehicle for travel between locations 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors Must be able to read telemetry strips Work with 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds Handle approximately 250-300 patients per day Navy scrubs required Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing 2-3 shifts floor-specific orientation Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This major healthcare facility operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center serving approximately 88,000 patients annually. The emergency department features comprehensive trauma services with dedicated trauma bays and specialized burn and pediatric transfer capabilities. The facility maintains 24/7 pharmacy and respiratory therapy services, with pharmacists available in the ER for 10 hours daily.
