Lead Category Manager

Job Description The Facilities Team is actively seeking a Lead Category Manager to enhance its procurement of commodities related to Energy (Gas/Electricity/Solar) Acquisition, Data Center Design/Construction, Facility Capital Equipment Acquisition and Maintenance, Global Physical Security Services, and other Facility Services commodities. This is a global role that supports projects around the world, particularly in North and South America. The successful candidate will also participate in merger and acquisition activities pertinent to their service commodity areas. As a self-driven and motivated professional, you'll manage multiple priorities and thrive in Oracle's dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will encompass high-value contract negotiations, supplier management, regional and global sourcing initiatives, adherence to policies, and implementing change management processes across Oracle. A deep understanding of service commodities, the ability to review and interpret legal documents, strong negotiation skills, and project management experience are essential. This role requires excellent technical skills, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint, along with keen critical thinking abilities and polished interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with regional teams, cross-functional groups, and suppliers. You will closely coordinate with counterparts in other regions (NA, JAPAC & EMEA) concerning global strategy and initiatives. Key responsibilities will include analyzing global spending trends, recommending cost-saving opportunities, supporting stakeholders, and identifying and implementing process efficiencies and improvements. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in sourcing: a) Energy, which includes understanding Supply and Demand Dynamics, Market Trends, Regulatory Knowledge, Load Profiling, Renewable Energy Certificates, and Carbon Offsets. b) Data Center Design/Construction, which encompasses the general fit-up of Hyperscale Data Centers along with Low Voltage Cabling, Capital Equipment, and Service Providers. You will need to be a self-starter capable of working autonomously in both a virtual team and local office settings. The work is non-routine and complex, demanding the application of specialized technical/business skills. 8 years of experience and a BS/BA degree. Proven experience in sourcing Energy and Data Center Design/Construction. Effective communication skills in a virtual environment. Strong customer service orientation. Highly organized with multitasking abilities. Proficient in negotiation and computer skills. Ability to meet deadlines effectively. A confident, self-motivated individual with good project management skills. Note: This role is located in Rocklin, CA; Austin, TX; Seattle, WA; or Redwood City, CA. Candidates must comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates, if necessary. The hiring range for this role is USD $87,000 to $178,100 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity.
