Role Summary The Project Manager will provide overall leadership and direction for an entire project or a portion of a larger, more complex project in collaboration with the Project Superintendent. You will fully manage the operations and administration of the project, while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors. All activities will align with the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Autonomy & Decision Making: Make decisions within defined limits of authority, consulting your supervisor as necessary. Key Responsibilities Champion the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to creating an injury-free workplace, investigating incidents, and retraining staff as necessary. Manage the prestart process for projects. Support the preconstruction team in quantity takeoff, trade coordination, and scope of work development. Lead the buyout schedule process, verifying pricing and scope, identifying successful bidders, and managing subcontracts. Oversee the submittal schedule, coordinating priorities and reviewing all shop drawings and samples before submission to architects or engineers. Ensure that approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and accessible to the project team according to the project schedule. Coordinate with Logistics to obtain pricing for materials and equipment. Work with risk management to ensure subcontractor approvals and bond requirements are met, and provide ongoing risk analysis throughout the project lifecycle. Manage communication among various project stakeholders including subcontractors, owners, design teams, and vendors. Prepare and submit change requests for owner/architect approval, managing the associated pricing and schedule adjustments. Lead key meetings such as monthly project reviews and Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings. Handle the monthly subcontractor and owner pay application processes. Develop and maintain the project schedule in partnership with the Project Superintendent, applying Lean principles as applicable. Identify critical schedule impacts and facilitate mitigation plans. Provide comprehensive documentation for critical project decisions affecting budget, schedule, and safety. Deliver regular project status reports and analyses to communicate overall progress and profitability. Manage project budgets and participate in forecasting to improve financial performance. Lead the project closeout process, ensuring all best practice standards, financials, and warranties are addressed. Collaborate with regional legal counsel as appropriate. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong attention to accuracy and completeness in work. Intermediate communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to conduct effective presentations. Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate level). Understanding of construction management fundamentals. Thorough knowledge of project processes. Ability to build collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in project management and accounting software. Advanced knowledge of construction technology. Advanced proficiency in scheduling software. Intermediate knowledge of Lean process applications. Strong ability to manage budgets and enhance profitability through relationship-building. Ability to foster lasting relationships with team members. Education Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience is also accepted. Experience Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience. Working Environment Valid and unrestricted driver's license required. Able to lift up to 25 pounds. Willingness to travel and/or relocate if necessary. Ability to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs. Possible exposure to extreme weather conditions. Assignments may be at project sites or in an office environment. Frequent activities include sitting and viewing computer screens; occasional activities involve standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
