Job Description: Position Details: Training Pay: Guaranteed $1,500/week. After training: Average $100,000 Annually Flexible schedule. Position Purpose: As a vital part of the country's food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that products arrive at customer locations safely and on time. They serve as the face of our company, building long-lasting relationships with our clients. The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for delivering and unloading food and related products in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Engages professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries. Collaborates effectively as a team member to fulfill any duty that best serves the company. Conducts all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Reports any safety issues or necessary repairs promptly. Adheres to all DOT regulations and company safety driving guidelines and policies. Identifies and reports all safety hazards; inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Performs count checks of items and verifies customer invoices before loading. Accurately completes all required paperwork related to freight. Maneuvers tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailers as needed. Delivers customer orders following the predetermined route delivery schedule. Unloads products from the trailer and transports them into designated customer storage areas. Conducts damage control checks on items and communicates with supervisors regarding orders according to company policy. Confirms delivery of items with customers and obtains proper signatures. Collects payments where necessary, loads customer returns onto the trailer, and secures trailer doors. Ensures that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked and handled appropriately. Handles damaged goods and customer returns by completing the necessary paperwork. Maintains daily records of hours of service as required by Federal DOT, state, and company guidelines. Performs general housekeeping duties within the tractor and loading dock area, keeping trailers clear and clean. At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and completes necessary paperwork. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 12+ months of commercial driving experience Valid CDL-A Must be at least 21 years of age Meets all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Passes post-offer drug test and criminal background check Successfully passes road test Obtains or has a valid current DOT Health Card or is able to secure a new one Able to lift and utilize equipment to handle product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift (generally ranging between 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds, depending on location) Company Description Performance Foodservice, part of PFG, maintains a unique relationship with a diverse range of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
