Commercial CDL Truck Driver

Job Summary As a Commercial CDL Truck Driver, you will operate heavy-duty trucks to transport waste or recyclable materials to designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. You will be responsible for safely maneuvering vehicles through high-traffic areas and potentially congested environments, requiring skilled backing maneuvers and precise vehicle handling. This position involves collecting waste and recycling materials from residential and commercial sites, ensuring customer satisfaction through careful and efficient service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate vehicles in compliance with safety regulations and all local, state, and federal transportation laws. Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, reporting any issues as per the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). Report any unsafe conditions or service-related problems immediately to management. Participate in all scheduled training sessions and staff meetings to enhance safety and efficiency. Collaborate with management to improve route efficiency and service quality. Notify management of any incidents, accidents, or damages to property during operations. Communicate promptly about any service interruptions or potential hazards encountered on the route. Ensure all waste containers are completely emptied and the area is clean and free of debris after service. Follow assigned routes and complete end-of-day documentation as required. Assist fellow drivers as needed to meet customer service objectives. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or military driving experience equivalent in the last 7 years. Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work. Hold a valid CDL Class A or Class B with an air-brake endorsement. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and reaching.
