Your Role as a Lead Automation Mechanic: As the Lead Automation Mechanic, you will guide a team of service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution systems. You'll collaborate with the Operations Maintenance team to devise solutions for challenging problems and oversee project management. Your role will also involve training and mentoring both service and contract technicians. Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include: Ensuring a safe work environment by strictly adhering to safety protocols. Maintaining and troubleshooting building conveyor systems. Leading audits of preventative maintenance procedures. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various control components such as relay logic and sensors. Creating and managing work orders with detailed data on labor hours, maintenance, and parts utilized. Fostering positive relationships across the operations facility. Developing training programs for service technicians. Preparing emergency repair plans for critical assets. Performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 49lbs, standing, and walking for potentially 12-hour shifts. Traveling up to 20% as necessary. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Flexibility in work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 3+ years of experience in preventative maintenance. 3+ years of experience reading blueprints and schematics. 2+ years of work order management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical fields. 5+ years working with automated conveyors and control systems. 2+ years of experience in electrical and electronic principles. 4+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical fields. Leadership and vendor management experience. Familiarity with robotic maintenance. Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Physical Demands: Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing. Lifting parts and tools, typically 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Working in varied conditions such as heat, cold, and at heights.
