Job Description The Director of Treasury Operations leads the oversight, execution, and governance of critical treasury activities including cash and liquidity management, incoming receipts, payments, and relationships with banking partners. This role is essential for ensuring that our treasury functions operate at optimal levels and align with our overarching business objectives. Strategic Leadership In this position, you will define the strategic vision for the Treasury Operations teams, placing a strong emphasis on people, processes, and technology to effectively address current and future customer needs. Your leadership will drive initiatives that enhance the accuracy and timeliness of Treasury Operations while improving overall service levels. Financial Oversight and Collaboration You will be the primary point of contact for our outsourced finance vendor, facilitating collaboration and ensuring high-quality service delivery. What You'll Do Oversee daily cash management involving approximately $18 billion in cash throughput, managing cash flow, projecting cash balances, and optimizing liquidity positions. Refine and enhance cash forecasting processes to enable proactive decision-making. Lead teams in managing incoming receipts and maintaining accurate cash balances. Develop programs to streamline and integrate processes within Treasury Operations. Leverage technology to improve operational metrics including accuracy, timeliness, and service levels. Manage third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate work while seeking to reduce costs. Collaborate closely with the Investment team to effectively manage short-term cash and investments. Work with direct reports to develop career growth plans, outlining goals and progress measures. Foster and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, optimizing solutions for improved processes. What You Bring A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 10 years of experience leading a Treasury Operations team. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MAcc) combined with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 12 or more years of experience in a related field if formal education is not applicable. Bonus Points Experience in health insurance treasury management is highly preferred. Familiarity with lockbox oversight is a plus. Proven experience in developing and maintaining detailed cash forecasts (daily, weekly, 13-week, and annual). Background in managing high-volume cash operations (over $5 billion annually), preferably in regulated environments. A strong record of managing diverse teams through periods of change. Ability to attract, nurture, and retain top talent. Experience with Treasury Management systems (e.g., Kyriba, GTreasury, SAP Treasury) and related interfaces. Salary Range At Blue Cross NC, we value fair and competitive compensation. Generally, our base salaries align with the mid-point of the listed salary range, which also encompasses an Annual Incentive Bonus, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and extensive health benefits.
