Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Quincy, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,524 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Quincy, Illinois, 62301!Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Epic experience - Surgical experience, particularly in total joints - Understanding of PCA pumps and reversal drugs (e.g., Narcan) - Experience with TPN and lipids - Knowledge of sepsis management Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced medical surgical/telemetry unit. The nurse will care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including neuro surgeries, abdominal surgeries, total joint replacements, and chronic pain management. The nurse will manage patients receiving PCA and TPN infusions, as well as monitor for complications such as sepsis. Staffing ratios are typically 1:4-6 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, with support from nurse aides and virtual admission and discharge nurses. Nurses will be required to interpret telemetry strips, although a telemetry monitor technician will be available to monitor patients. Charge nurses typically have a smaller assignment during the day, while night shifts may involve a house supervisor helping with patient care. Shifts consist of three 12-hour days starting at 7 AM, with weekend coverage required every other weekend and participation in holiday rotations. Nurses floating to like units will only assist without taking a full patient load. Additional requirements include the ability to work with respiratory equipment such as CPAP and Bipap.
