Your Role As part of Teradata's Product Engineering leadership team, you will spearhead the development of next-generation intelligent architectures for AI within our data and analytics platform. Your influence will be pivotal in defining how Teradata elevates its offerings to deliver intelligent, scalable, and secure AI capabilities integrated within our hybrid cloud ecosystem. Key responsibilities will include: Developing Teradata's AI strategy, focusing on capabilities that support agentic AI, GenAI, and advanced analytics on the Teradata VantageCloud platform. Creating scalable AI-driven architectures utilizing open table formats (Iceberg, Delta), robust query engines (Trino, Presto, Spark), and seamless event streaming (Kafka, Pulsar). Integrating AI into Teradata's products through orchestration, context management, and long-term workflows utilizing frameworks like LangChain and Semantic Kernel, alongside connectors to Amazon Bedrock and Azure OpenAI. Defining reusable patterns for AI/ML inference within customer-facing applications, emphasizing reliability, explainability, and governance. Modernizing our platform using microservices and Kubernetes-native deployment while ensuring secure and compliant AI services. Advocating for responsible AI by establishing governance frameworks that guarantee fairness, transparency, and integrity in AI-powered analytics. Leading architectural reviews and aligning strategies across engineering teams to foster consistency, scalability, and innovation. Who You Will Collaborate With This role reports directly to the SVP of Product Engineering, AI, Analytics, Applications, and UX and partners across the Teradata ecosystem. You will: Guide engineering, design, and data science teams on AI architecture and strategic delivery. Collaborate with the Office of the CTO to drive innovation and technology roadmaps. Work alongside Infrastructure and Security Engineering to confirm that Teradata's AI services meet top-tier performance and security standards. Engage with customers, partners, and go-to-market teams to fully grasp enterprise AI use cases and influence Teradata's product roadmap. Team up with R&D and innovation groups to explore emerging AI technologies through proof-of-concepts and assess their applicability. Your Qualifications 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or distributed systems with a strong background in large-scale analytics platforms. Demonstrated success in integrating AI and ML into enterprise-quality products at scale. Expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, ensuring secure integration with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Solid understanding of agentic AI frameworks, orchestration technologies, and generative AI implementation. Proven experience building production-level AI/ML inference pipelines while maintaining robust governance. Familiarity with open data formats, modern query engines, real-time streaming, and enterprise APIs. Track record of transforming platforms from monolithic architectures to microservices, employing Kubernetes for deployment. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (PhD preferred).
