Director of Group Purchasing Organization About the Company Acquisition-focused software group Industry Computer Software Type Privately Held Employees 1001-5000 About the Role The Company is looking for a dynamic Director to lead its Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) initiative. This pivotal role focuses on establishing and expanding a commercial platform that harnesses purchasing power across thousands of practices in dental, medical, and veterinary sectors. You will play a strategic part in shaping GPO formation and strategy, defining the operational model, and collaborating with the company's leadership on critical build vs. acquisition decisions. Your responsibilities will include forging vendor and strategic partnerships, capitalizing on existing industry relationships to create a robust vendor ecosystem, and negotiating favorable commercial terms. A significant aspect of this role involves refining the commercial model, delivering measurable value to our customers, and monitoring adoption and performance metrics. The ideal candidate will possess at least 8 years of experience in sales, strategic sourcing, partnerships, marketplaces, or similar commercial roles, with strong preference for candidates who have direct experience in dental, medical, healthcare services, or veterinary industries. Key competencies include exceptional commercial judgment, negotiation prowess, and an ability to effectively influence and sell value. A builder mindset, comfort in decentralized environments, and a results-oriented approach are essential for this role. You will be expected to successfully launch an operational GPO in a core vertical, secure essential vendor agreements, and develop a replicable commercial and operational model. Your success will be gauged by your ability to aggregate customer spend, demonstrate economic value, and formulate a clear strategy for scaling the GPO into additional verticals.
