Job Overview: As a CDL Truck Driver, you'll operate heavy-duty vehicles equipped for various collection services. Drivers are responsible for transporting waste and recyclable materials to appropriate disposal or recycling facilities. You'll also manage the pick-up of containers that can weigh over 1,000 pounds, requiring safe maneuvering of wheeled containers. Expertise in backing maneuvers is pivotal for success. Your responsibilities will vary based on your specific role: Residential Drivers: Collect household waste and recyclables, maneuvering safely in residential areas. Roll-off Drivers: Load and transport large containers while navigating industrial routes. Key Responsibilities: Operate the vehicle in compliance with safety regulations, local, state, and federal laws. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings using a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. Report unsafe conditions or service issues immediately to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to enhance route efficiency. Ensure cleanliness by dumping all receptacles completely and leaving the area free of debris. Adhere to daily route assignments and complete necessary documentation. Qualifications: Required: At least 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years. Must be at least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air-brake endorsement. Preferred: High School Diploma or GED. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, crouch, reach, and handle materials.
