Overview The Work We are seeking an experienced Lead Network and Systems Administrator to take charge of administrative tasks, reporting, design, and maintenance across multiple platforms. Ideal candidates will have a robust knowledge of Server Operating Systems, WAN/LAN networking concepts and devices, along with familiarity with monitoring software solutions from various vendors like Microsoft, Broadcom, Dynatrace, and Nexthink. This role will also involve providing both individual and group training on our toolset as well as crafting technical and policy documentation as necessary. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Oversee and maintain Server Operating Systems on both physical and virtual platforms. Install, upgrade, and maintain monitoring application software across diverse operating systems. Deep understanding of server monitoring, focusing on Windows Server and RHEL. Strong grasp of WAN concepts and data circuits including T1s, MPLS, VPN, and Ethernet. Familiarity with networking devices such as routers, switches, access points, and firewalls. Communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Adhere to established processes and procedures for addressing customer inquiries and issues. Uphold call quality standards to ensure high customer satisfaction. Deliver customer communications in a clear and accessible manner. Document policies and procedures in the ticketing system as well as in our internal knowledge base. Assess and provide recommendations to improve services for internal clients. Work both independently and collaboratively within a team as required. Develop strong relationships with clients to enhance service delivery. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications - Here's What You Need BA/BS Degree with over 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with over 3 years of experience, or a PhD with no experience required. Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level II (such as Security+ CE). Capability to obtain other relevant DOD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment. Must hold an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Experience utilizing Remedy or a similar ticketing system. Professional experience with Windows Server 2012 and 2016. Hands-on experience with VMware. Familiarity with technology areas such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and DFS. Understanding of NTFS file share permissions. Basic knowledge of authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos and LDAP. Foundational networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, SSH, OpenVPN). Must be able to pass a background check, with potential for additional checks based on specific project needs. Minimum Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Proven multitasking ability and prioritization in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly. Competence in MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Desired Requirement: Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is a plus. Experience with Cisco telephony and router solutions. Previous experience with USACE/ACE-IT. Experience supporting Office 365. Experience in a DOD environment. Reports to: Program Manager Working Conditions Professional remote office environment. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday; 8-hour shifts between 6 AM and 6 PM local time. Establish a productive workspace. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer screen use. Availability for flexible scheduling which may include holidays. Willingness to travel for business or professional development. Potential to work outside standard business hours.
