We listen first, act thoughtfully, and keep people informed throughout every step of the auction process.Position Summary – Warehouse Worker / Art HandlerIn this role, the Warehouse Worker / Art Handler is responsible for the safe handling, storage, movement, and preparation of fine art and valuable property within the auction house warehouse and gallery spaces. This role supports auction operations by ensuring artwork and collectibles are received, cataloged, stored, packed, and installed with the highest level of care and professionalism.The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of proper art handling procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Key responsibilities include receiving and inspecting incoming consignments, safely moving and storing artwork and objects, assisting with exhibition setup and breakdown, packing items for shipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring warehouse organization and cleanliness. Please submit your resume and a cover letter including salary history and requirements to .RequirementsThe successful candidate is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient movement of all property flowing into, through, and leaving the auction house.Including but not Limited to:Auction Logistics:•Inventory Maintenance: Safe handling and orderly flow of all inventory through the loading dock, warehouse, photography zones, and showrooms•Effectively working with other staff members to develop and maintain orderly storage and recordkeeping procedures from intake, through the entire cataloging / sale process, to reconciliation of consignor accounts•The unloading, unpacking and receiving of incoming consignments•Preparing consignments for cataloging, including tagging items, taking measurements, and documenting related information•Moving and arranging furniture for photographers•Setting up and breaking down live auctions and auction previews•Participating on preview and auction days with client interaction and absentee/phone bidding functions.•Facilitating customer pickups including Assisting Clients with the packing and removal of purchases and Releasing items to shippers, buyers and returns to consignors•Go out on Occasional Pickups to remove items from homes / businesses including packing safely, loading to truck.•Assisting with building / custodial maintenance, projects and other duties as assignedQualifications:• Previous Auction House experience is strongly preferred but not required. Paid Experience handling and moving furniture with industry-accepted procedures and safety protocols necessary.• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required• Maintain a valid and clean Driver’s License• Physical Needs: Ability to lift 75+ lbs using the appropriate tools• Ability to pack/unpack fragile items to prepare for shipment• Ability to adapt to a variety of working environments including extremes in temperature• Team player mentality with an ability to work independently with excellent ability to use time efficiently and to prioritise•Commitment to an exemplary level of client service•Ability to work well under pressure•Highly organized & reliableMust have your own reliable transportation.
