Lead AWS Mainframe Modernization Architect

In this role, you'll have the chance to transform enterprise clients by modernizing their legacy mainframe environments into efficient, cloud-native architectures. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of mainframe technologies and modernization methodologies to craft scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on prominent cloud platforms. The role demands strong technical leadership, hands-on experience with mainframes, and a fervor for advancing innovation through cloud adoption. You Will: Architectural Design: Define target architectures for mainframe workload migration, incorporating strategies such as replatforming, refactoring, and re-architecting. Develop modernization roadmaps and reference architectures aligned with clients' business goals. Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding enterprise customers through modernization strategies and cloud best practices. Conduct assessments of legacy systems and recommend the best migration plans, leading workshops and proof-of-concepts. Implementation Leadership: Collaborate with various teams to deliver comprehensive modernization projects, establishing CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks during large-scale migrations while optimizing for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency using cloud-native services. Thought Leadership: Create reusable technical assets and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives by mentoring teams and participating in community events. Travel may be required, ranging from 0-100% based on client needs. What You Need: At least 10 years of hands-on experience in AWS solutions, cloud migration, application modernization, or Data & AI transformation programs. Professional-level AWS Cloud Architecture certification. A minimum of 5 years with modernization tools such as Blu Age or Micro Focus. A minimum of 5 years in microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless architectures. Strong communication skills for engaging a diverse range of stakeholders. At least 5 years of hands-on experience with core mainframe technologies, including TSO, CICS, and batch processing. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
