SHIFT DET - Shift 1 (United States of America - Michigan) A BRIEF OVERVIEW The Operations Technician - Utility is responsible for performing operations, conducting in-process inspections per specifications, and preparing products for coating under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor. Collaborating with a team of Operations Technicians and Quality Control Inspectors, this role is essential for maintaining product quality and operational efficiency. WHAT YOU WILL DO Prepare product surfaces for coating through cleaning, marking, and masking. Execute utility operations by applying binder and beads on product surfaces using various hand tools, repeating this process as needed to meet specifications. Conduct visual inspections of products to ensure they meet quality standards. Inspect finished work for quality and adherence to specifications. Complete all necessary training programs. Utilize hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely transport products. Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment. Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines. Support Lean Manufacturing and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives. Perform dimensional inspections using various measurement tools as required. Engage in weekly housekeeping activities based on a 5S schedule. Identify and report any faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the Supervisor or Lead. Follow work orders to execute operations on different parts and products. Promote safety expectations and operational practices, reporting any issues to the Supervisor. Ensure quality and compliance by following all procedures, work instructions, and forms as per the Quality Management System (QMS).
