Reports to: Site Coordinator Classification: Non-Exempt Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer Level II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced electronic and electromechanical equipment. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring reliability, process qualifications, and successful customer installations. You will also play a key role in training customer personnel on advanced equipment operations, perform onsite technical support, and mentor other Field Service Engineers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide exceptional service to customers with a focus on achieving complete satisfaction. Assist customers in identifying and resolving equipment-related process challenges. Conduct onsite preventative maintenance, ensure cleanliness of equipment, and verify operational quality. Manage start-up and warranty activities, including hardware setups, within designated time frames. Keep management informed of critical situations and document all activities as required. Troubleshoot and resolve process variations, diagnosing hardware or process issues efficiently. Engage in local customer meetings, communicating effectively in person and via email or phone. Prepare and submit necessary paperwork promptly and maintain thorough equipment logs. Document shift activities clearly for effective communication with subsequent shifts. Adhere to all safety requirements and participate in ongoing training to maintain site access. Be flexible with your schedule, including potential overtime and travel requirements, with overnight travel expected up to 20% of the time. Maintain a valid passport for international travel and possess safe driving privileges for company vehicles. Train other Field Service Engineers on specific product lines and company software. Assist with equipment installations or complex retrofits, ensuring customer acceptance. Apply troubleshooting skills to minimize equipment downtime and enhance customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Initiate purchase orders for parts and services as necessary. Maintain and repair company demo cleanroom equipment. Stay informed about the latest systems and procedures, including site safety requirements. Exhibit excellent customer service skills, both domestically and internationally. Maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas. Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience: A minimum of an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required, along with two to four years of relevant experience in semiconductor/electronic production equipment. Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills are essential. Familiarity with quality improvement processes and terminology is preferred. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve advanced process-related system issues. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with customers, management, and colleagues. Advanced proficiency in PC skills, particularly with Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision Making training is a plus. Physical Demands: The role involves regular physical activity, including standing, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity is required, and individuals must be able to work in cleanroom attire for up to 75% of the time.
