Department Overview As part of Motorola's dedicated cybersecurity consulting team, we specialize in delivering comprehensive technical assessments, compliance verification, and strategic security recommendations tailored to our clients' needs. Our team addresses various cybersecurity aspects, including physical security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and adherence to frameworks such as CJIS, CIS, ISO, and NIST. Job Description We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our Offensive Security team. This internship offers hands-on experience throughout the entire penetration testing lifecycle, from reconnaissance to reporting. You will collaborate with experienced testers to identify vulnerabilities, test security measures, and enhance the overall cybersecurity posture of our organization. Key Responsibilities: Reconnaissance & OSINT: Assist in gathering publicly available information and mapping the attack surface of target environments. Vulnerability Scanning: Configure and run automated scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Burp Suite, OpenVAS) while analyzing the results. Exploitation Support: Conduct research and develop proofs-of-concept for identified vulnerabilities under the guidance of senior staff. Documentation & Reporting: Contribute to drafting technical findings and executive summaries that effectively communicate risks and remediation steps. Qualifications: Understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and common web protocols. Familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common attack vectors (SQLi, XSS, etc.). Basic proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or PowerShell). Experience with Linux/Unix environments, with Kali Linux experience being a plus. What You'll Gain: Mentorship from industry-certified professionals (OSCP, CISSP, GIAC). Exposure to enterprise-grade security tools and methodologies. A unique insight into the workings of a professional Penetration Testing team in a corporate setting. Basic Requirements: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science or Cybersecurity, with a graduation date on or after December 1, 2026. Basic knowledge of scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
