Senior AWS Platform & AI Cloud Engineer

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior AWS Platform & AI Cloud Engineer position! This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. Position Overview: The right person will have a strong platform engineering background and an AI-first mindset. This role will design, build, and operationalize scalable AWS infrastructure and enterprise AI solutions while enabling self-service capabilities for application teams. This position requires deep AWS expertise, infrastructure-as-code experience, modern CI/CD pipeline engineering, and hands-on experience deploying and governing Generative AI solutions at scale. What You'll Be Doing:Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering Design, build, and deploy scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform). Develop and maintain infrastructure and platform CI/CD pipelines for agile application delivery. Engineer repeatable, automated platform solutions that enable secure self-service capabilities for application teams. Build and maintain Gold Images and automated provisioning solutions. Design "as-is" and "to-be" architectural diagrams to support infrastructure transformation. AI & Generative AI Engineering Lead design and production deployment of AWS GenAI solutions using Amazon Bedrock, delivering scalable, low-latency AI inference without managing GPU infrastructure. Establish enterprise AI platform patterns focused on performance, cost optimization, safety, and observability. Integrate Amazon Q/Kiro into cloud operations to accelerate troubleshooting and architecture analysis. Partner with security and application teams to operationalize responsible AI practices aligned with enterprise standards. Promote an AI-first mentality to optimize operations and improve engineering processes. AWS Infrastructure & Security Architect and manage AWS services including VPCs, Subnets, Route53, Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), WAF, Security Groups, NACLs, EC2, S3, EBS, IAM, Systems Manager (SSM), CloudWatch, StackSets, and GuardDuty. Engineer networking solutions leveraging TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and distributed computing principles. Implement secure design patterns, patching strategies, logging (CloudTrail), and monitoring best practices. Support containerized workloads using ECR, EMR, and EKS. Automation & DevOps Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using CloudFormation, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible, and configuration management tools. Develop automation using Python, YAML, JSON, and Terraform. Support hybrid environments across Windows Server (2019+) and Linux (RHEL 8.x-9.x, SUSE). Implement monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, Cribl, and Zabbix. What You'll Need to Have:Experience Minimum 3 years of hands-on AWS experience. 3-5 years building infrastructure and platform pipelines. Experience designing and deploying AWS GenAI solutions (Amazon Bedrock). Proven background in platform engineering and Infrastructure-as-Code automation. Experience building automated, self-service cloud platforms. Technical Expertise AI and Generative AI architecture and governance. AWS core services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, EBS, CloudWatch, SSM, Security Groups. CI/CD pipeline development and automation. CloudFormation, Terraform, Python. Containers (EKS, ECR, EMR).
