Summary: Join Meta as a Wholesale Energy Strategy Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping our global energy strategy focused on achieving a cost-effective and sustainable energy supply portfolio. We are looking for a talented individual with a proven ability to develop and execute wholesale portfolio strategies, showcasing your commercial, market, technical, and financial expertise in electricity markets across the U.S. Your insights into wholesale power market rules and regulations will be invaluable in advancing Meta's mission. Responsibilities: Lead the identification, structuring, and negotiation of new cost-competitive wholesale energy and capacity sources for Meta's operations in collaboration with our market-participating affiliate. Work closely with internal teams, including sustainability, legal, tax, and finance, to implement effective supply solutions. Develop and maintain relationships with essential suppliers, developers, regulators, and other stakeholders across various U.S. energy markets. Engage in state and federal regulatory processes by offering subject-matter expertise and industry insights to enhance the reliability and cost-effectiveness of energy supply for new data centers. Contribute to the evolution and execution of our wholesale supply strategy for both domestic and potentially international data centers. Stay updated on technical, market, and regulatory trends in the energy industry, communicating key findings and risks to management. Collaborate on various energy projects as necessary, including feasibility assessments and negotiations for projects in the development phase. Support the ongoing development and implementation of Meta's energy supply strategy for our data centers. Be prepared to travel domestically (10-25% at times). Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in developing, acquiring, and negotiating utility-scale electricity supply projects. Demonstrated expertise in negotiating wholesale capacity and energy transactions with market participants, utilities, or power marketers. Experienced in financial modeling of energy projects, identifying risks, and managing due diligence processes (financial, commercial, technical, development). In-depth knowledge of market constructs, rules, and regulations impacting wholesale supply opportunities. Proven ability to represent business interests to leadership teams of suppliers, utilities, and regulatory agencies. Familiarity with utility and grid interconnection, capacity accreditation, and wholesale electricity market transactions. Proficient in leading negotiations and energy project management. Strong communication skills for articulating complex commercial, regulatory, and contractual information at all organizational levels. Skilled at managing multiple projects in collaboration with internal teams, utility providers, consultants, and external stakeholders. Proficient in standard document and analytics platforms (Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.). Compensation: $202,000/year to $273,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
