Position Title: Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Oncology/Lymphedema Work Location: Portland, Oregon Number of Openings: 1 Onsite Flexibility: 100% Onsite Job Overview As an Occupational Therapist, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized treatment programs designed to achieve the best possible outcomes for each patient. This position focuses on Outpatient Oncology and Lymphedema care. Key Responsibilities Evaluate patients’ abilities and limitations through comprehensive assessments. Establish treatment goals based on evaluation findings and referral reasons, considering neuromuscular movement and stability, sensation, activities of daily living (ADLs), cognition, vocational skills, developmental status, and other relevant factors. Assess home and work environments and recommend physical barrier modifications or ergonomic adaptations as necessary. Administer therapy according to established plans using appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques within the scope of Occupational Therapy practice. Recommend adaptive equipment, prepare justification documentation, and coordinate delivery. Re-evaluate patients regularly to monitor progress and provide discharge recommendations when appropriate. Collaborate and co-treat with therapists from other disciplines. Fabricate splints as required. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with established standards. Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals, treatment methods, home program execution, and injury prevention strategies. Supervise patient care activities performed by aides, assistants, attendants, and volunteers. Skills: Ability to provide patient services and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA/COTA), therapy aides, and students. Excellent organizational skills to facilitate program development. Demonstrated competency in assessing and interpreting patients’ needs relative to age and developmental stages. Skilled in home program development and family training. Knowledge of appropriate selection and use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Proficient computer skills. Licensure: Occupational Therapist license required. BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
