We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (NICU RN / neonatal nurse) for a 13-week travel assignment in a state-of-the-art Level IV NICU in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. Job Details Location: Madison, WI 53792 — Madison, Wisconsin travel nurse opportunity Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026) Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (7:00am – 7:30pm); Monday–Friday with 2–3 weekends per 6-week schedule Hours per Week: 36 Unit: 26-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level IV NICU) Orientation: Approximately 1 week (24 hours) Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation options available Compensation Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020-$2130 Job Requirements (NICU RN / Travel RN) Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license (must be in hand at submission) Minimum 2 years recent NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU Previous travel RN / travel nurse experience required BLS certification (American Heart Association only) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required Epic charting experience preferred (within the last 12 months) Basic arrhythmia interpretation and telemetry experience (must pass telemetry test prior to start) Ability to float to all units, including PICU, for patients under 12 months Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse eligibility) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) NICU RN Responsibilities Deliver expert, compassionate care to critically ill neonates and infants in a Level IV NICU (neonatal intensive care) Manage post-operative neonatal patients, G-tubes, trach/vent care, and multiple modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation Perform advanced neonatal procedures including UAC/UVC management, phototherapy, and whole-body cooling Interpret and manage telemetry and arrhythmias; participate in required testing and maintain ongoing competency Provide family-centered care, patient education, and emotional support throughout admission to discharge Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and pediatric specialists Float as needed to other pediatric units within the hospital, including the PICU Why Madison?
