As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will support a collaborative setting that integrates clinic, hospital, and OR assistance, ensuring comprehensive patient management. This role demands flexibility and adaptability with a rotating schedule, including shared call responsibilities. Key Details Assignment Type: Locum Tenens Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Hospital Start Date: May (pending privileges) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Call: 1:2 rotation, weekdays 3:00 PM - 7:00 AM, weekend 3:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday Patient Population: Adult Location: Santa Monica, CA Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates Benefits Weekly direct deposit Malpractice insurance with tail coverage Supportive credentialing assistance Lodging and mileage reimbursement (if applicable) Flexible scheduling Job Responsibilities Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures including OR assistance Perform radical and endoscopic vein harvesting Manage ICU/step-down patients Interpret EKGs, X-rays, laboratory results, ECMO, IABP & Impella Conduct patient rounds and manage clinic duties as necessary Qualifications Active CA Physician Assistant license with CA DEA Must be able to perform vein harvesting and other specified surgical tasks Certifications: ACLS, BLS Board Certification required Working Hours Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with call rotation Skills Proficient in interpreting advanced cardiac monitoring Skilled in surgical assistance in high-acuity settings Strong organizational and communication capabilities Experience with handling critical care equipment and procedures This opportunity is ideal for candidates with significant experience in cardiothoracic care who thrive in a high-paced, integrative role.
