100% remote but MUST live in one of these states: TX, OK, AL, MO, GA, FL, AR, KS, SD, IL, KY, LA, TN, MEWork Environment -Fully Remote 8-5 (flexible start time 7, 8,9) CSTJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Surgery Coding Specialist with proven experience across multiple surgical specialties. This role is responsible for directly coding surgical procedures using PMD and Auto Note, ensuring accurate, complete, and compliant documentation. The ideal candidate is confident in surgical coding, detail-oriented, and capable of covering general surgery, breast, head and neck, and GI procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesCode surgical procedures directly from operative reports and clinical documentation Utilize PMD to support coding workflows and documentation review Pull up Auto Notes and accurately complete all required coding fields Assign correct CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers in accordance with coding guidelines Ensure accuracy for billing, reporting, and compliance purposes Cover coding needs across general surgery, breast surgery, head and neck surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery Collaborate with providers and internal teams to clarify documentation when needed Proactively ask questions to ensure coding accuracy and completeness Maintain quality, productivity, and turnaround time standardsRequired Skills & ExperienceCPC certification (Required) Minimum 2 years of General Surgery coding experience Minimum 2 years of Breast Surgery coding experience Proven experience coding across: General Surgery Breast Surgery Head and Neck Surgery Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgery Ability to confidently cover all listed surgical specialties Strong overall coding experience in a surgical environmentJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
