Additional information on how to complete the two-page resume is located at The primary purpose or this position is: to serve as a work lender over a crew of three or more workers/mechanics. In this capacity, the work leader provides instructional guidance, makes work arrangements ensures production pace is maintained, works with crews in solving problems and works with crews engaged in the maintenance and repair of electrical power production equipment, ancillary components, electrical equipment, diesel, gasoline, and/or multi-fuel engines, and aircraft arresting barriers. Duty 1: Receives project work orders and/or Instructions from supervisor and passes, work objectives/requirements on to workers by assigning tasks to be performed by individual members or the group led. Working long with other workers and setting the pace; demonstrates proper work methods; sees to it that needed. Duty 3: Works along with crew members, to install, inspect, and perform modifications and repairs to electrical power support systems such as electrical power plants and power distribution equipment. Performs inspection, maintenance and major modification; troubleshoots complex repair situations; and performs other maintenance on electrical power generating equipment. Duty 5: Maintains, inspects, repairs, diagnoses, and modifies aircraft arrestor barrier units. Makes periodic operational tests or checks to ensure proper operation. Duty 6: Ensures the crew abides by and utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and ensures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing. Requirements: U.S. Citizen Obtain & maintain a security clearance. Designated Drug Testing Position KSA's: 1. Knowledge of principles of electricity (AC/DC), solid state, and safety rules and regulations pertaining to powered support systems; and the operation of emergency generator power systems. 2. Knowledge of the theory and operation of internal combustion diesel and gasoline engines. 3. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures; environmental standards and requirements; and regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation. 4. Skill in reading, interpreting, and using wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, technical orders, technical publications and similar guides; and using hand and power tools, instruments, test equipment, and electrical meters to include special tools such as hydraulic knock-out tools, hammers, drills, valve spring compressors, and micrometers. 5. Skill in installing, operating, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying generators, automatic transfer switches, and power systems; maintaining, overhauling, repairing, and reconditioning internal combustion engines, both diesel and gasoline; and troubleshooting complex situations related to electrical power generators. 6. Ability to apply shop procedures, policies, written and oral instructions, and directives sufficient to provide training to others.
