Second Press Operator

Position Title: Second Press OperatorGeneral PurposeResponsible for performing manual and machine tasks related to the setup, maintenance, and operation of sheet-fed offset presses to accurately produce products that meet customer specifications.Essential Job Functions/u2022 Operate various sheet-fed offset presses./u2022 Read and interpret work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions./u2022 Start machines and run trial sets to verify accuracy of machine setups./u2022 Observe and monitor press operations to detect malfunctions and determine required adjustments./u2022 Ensure image registration from unit to unit; run samples and make adjustments to maintain print quality and color settings in accordance with densitometer readings./u2022 Follow all standard operating procedures applicable to the job, position, and department./u2022 Perform routine adjustments during press runs to maintain quality throughout production./u2022 Complete assigned work effectively and within required timelines./u2022 Accurately follow all instructions./u2022 Maintain daily production records using specified forms./u2022 Record production data including time spent on specific tasks./u2022 Preserve and transfer customer artwork in clean, undamaged condition./u2022 Maintain a clean and orderly work area./u2022 Open machines and remove or replace damaged product using hand tools./u2022 Perform daily and monthly maintenance and troubleshooting activities./u2022 Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications/u2022 Five to seven years of printing experience required./u2022 Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals./u2022 Basic computer skills including data entry./u2022 Ability to perform intermediate arithmetic including decimals, fractions, ratios, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division./u2022 Ability to meet or pass mechanical aptitude testing or demonstrate mechanical aptitude through prior experience./u2022 Ability to pass color hue and color vision tests./u2022 Ability to read a ruler./u2022 Demonstrated ability to perform accurate work./u2022 Effective decision-making skills./u2022 Strong time management and self-management skills./u2022 Willingness to work overtime as required; significant overtime may be needed during peak periods./u2022 Reliable attendance required./u2022 Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position.
