First-time travelers are accepted. EMR experience with Meditech is preferred. Block scheduling can be discussed during the interview. Start date is as soon as possible. Shift dates follow a 5x8 days schedule. Weekends are required every other week. Call is required, 1 in 5 shifts including weekends. Floating may be required as needed within the scope. Skills required include peg tube placement/exchange, closed reduction of facial fractures/wiring, and various surgical procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and total joint replacement. Knowledge of Fire Safety, Latex Allergy, and Universal Protocol is necessary. Daily patient care will involve diverse age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 10 patients. The unit has 4 operating rooms equipped for various surgical specialties. Interdisciplinary support is available. Special procedures include general surgery, ortho, OB/GYN, urology, endoscopy, and oral maxillofacial surgery. Special equipment includes mini-C-arm, Stryker towers, and Olympus endoscopy devices.
