At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves? The Torque Distribution Technical Expert, as a Global SME, is required to lead electric propulsion torque path strategy for torque distribution, traction control, and AWD attributes including coordination with braking systems. This role bridges the gap between hardware capability and software execution. You will lead the coordination between electric propulsion torque distribution and braking systems to ensure seamless vehicle behavior across all surfaces-from high-mu pavement to snow, ice, and even rugged off-road environments. Ability and Willingness to travel - up to 20% domestic/international travel required Maximizing vehicle-level performance requires precise and coordinated control of torque from multiple actuators to balance vehicle stability, traction (on and off road, high and low mu surfaces), responsiveness, and energy efficiency, within thermal constraints. This position provides centralized technical ownership to ensure a consistent approach across platforms/ application, enables cross-functional alignment, and ensures robust execution of torque path and brake coordination strategies. Responsibilities Responsible (owner) for creation and Maintenance of the Core engineering Documents ( FMA Documents, SDS/Requirements and test Procedures) of the EV torque path/ distribution and related attributes. Evaluating proposed Hardware and Software solutions to optimize the balance of traction, efficiency, and thermal attributes though system integration. Then work to get the most for the customer from the hardware available on the program through calibration and or controls recommendation. Lead Technical Design Reviews of the Torque Path/ Distribution system and related sub systems ( Controls and Calibrations) Benchmark EV competitor propulsive solutions to ensure that the Ford Torque Path/ Distribution controls are the industry leading EV control system.
