Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist Team Lead provides both advanced clinical pharmacy services and operational leadership within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Satellite Pharmacy. This role is responsible for supervising daily activities, supporting staff development, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The Team Lead reports to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager for Critical Care. Clinical Responsibilities Perform all functions of a clinical pharmacist, including patient care activities within the ICU. Respond to Code Blue, Rapid Response, and other emergent events in ICU and hospital areas. Serve as a clinical resource and supports evidence-based medication therapy management. Operational & Supervisory Responsibilities Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned pharmacy team members and oversee operations of the ICU Satellite Pharmacy. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of staff. Develop, implement, and monitor standards of performance to ensure quality and efficiency. Review and process weekly employee timesheets. Leadership & Performance Management Evaluate employee performance and provide regular coaching, feedback, and counseling as needed. Promote a positive and accountable team culture focused on safety, service, and continuous improvement. Quality, Safety & Compliance Lead or participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance clinical and operational outcomes. Maintain ongoing readiness for regulatory, accreditation, and quality assurance surveys. Represent the pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees, workgroups, and projects. Customer Service & Collaboration Address and resolve service concerns raised by clinical units or other hospital departments regarding pharmacy services. Foster strong working relationships with ICU nursing, physicians, and support teams to ensure seamless medication use processes. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities assigned by immediate or senior pharmacy leadership. WORK EXPERIENCE At least 2 years Job related experience required At least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred Completion of a residence program in pediatrics, critical care, or administration and pharacotherapy with emphasis in pediatrics preferred EDUCATION Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience From an accredited school of Pharmacy required Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS 20 hour ACPE accredited IV training course required Current Texas licensure and registration as a Pharmacist Upon Hire required Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 90 Days required PALS Certification for all emergency care and critical care clinical pharmacists 180 Days required ACLS Certification for all emergency care clinical pharmacists 180 Days required A Place Where You Belong We put our people first.
