Staff Development Specialist-RN License Are you a nurse who is passionate about infection control and prevention? The Infection prevention nurse is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent or control infections, based on surveillance reports of infections and infection potential among residents and staff. Position Overview Canton, Michigan is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Development Specialist to join our team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing professional development programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement. Qualifications State of Michigan Registered Nurse Licensing and current Basic Life Support Certificate. Proven experience in staff development, training, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Patient management system knowledge (PointClickCare) and training software is a plus. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Responsibilities: As an infection prevention nurse, you will: Monitor healthcare-associated infections. Assess infection prevention problems and makes recommendations for corrective action. Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures. Conduct outbreak investigation and initiates control measures. And report communicable diseases to the state as required by law. Provides educational offerings for orientation and ongoing in-services. Consults with department heads and physicians as needed to improve care. Initiate follow-up on employee/resident exposures to communicable diseases. Proven experience in staff development, training, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and training software is a plus. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Design, develop, and deliver training programs tailored to staff needs and organizational goals. Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations. Coordinate and schedule workshops, seminars, and other educational activities. Collaborate with department leaders to identify skill gaps and develop targeted development plans. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary. Maintain training records and prepare reports on staff development activities. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in staff development and adult learning. Support onboarding and orientation processes for new employees.
