Director of packaging operations

The Mission Lead a high-volume, pharmaceutical packaging powerhouse. You are the final guardian of product integrity, balancing high-speed OEE with rigorous cGMP compliance. Core Responsibilities Operational Command: Direct all packaging lines (Bottling, Blister, Sachet) to meet aggressive throughput and yield targets. Mechanical Reliability: Partner with Engineering/Maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize PM schedules for high-speed automated gear. Regulatory Leadership: Ensure 100% adherence to FDA, cGMP, and SOP standards. Own the CAPA process and maintain "audit-ready" status. Workforce Excellence: Lead, hire, and mentor a diverse multi-shift team. Foster a culture of safety and extreme accountability. Strategic Growth: Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and identify automation opportunities to scale capacity. Requirements Experience: 10+ years in Pharma, OTC, or Nutraceutical packaging management. Scale: Proven success managing large teams (200-500+ employees). Technical: Expert knowledge of high-speed packaging machinery and serialization. Education: Bachelor's in Engineering, Pharma Sciences, or Operations. Location: 100% On-site. salary: $150,000 - $190,000 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM education: Masters Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Operational Excellence & Technical Reliability Optimize Throughput: Lead high-speed packaging operations to hit aggressive productivity, quality, and cost-of-goods targets. Mechanical Oversight: Partner closely with Maintenance and Engineering to maximize machine uptime; oversee preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure mechanical teams are aligned with production priorities. Process Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste, improve OEE, and reduce downtime. Safety & Environment: Maintain a world-class standard for safety, sanitation (5S), and organizational flow within all packaging suites. Compliance, Quality & Regulatory GMP Integrity: Ensure 100% compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), internal SOPs, and FDA/regulatory requirements. Audit Readiness: Maintain "always-ready" documentation and facility standards for internal and external regulatory inspections. Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into deviations and implement robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to prevent recurrence.
