We have an outstanding Contract position for aServiceNow CMDB Specialistto join a leading Company.This position is fully remote.Pay Rate: $62.02US Citizenship is required.Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow CMDB (Configuration Management Database) Specialist for a temporary 6-month position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the CMDB within the ServiceNow platform. This role requires expertise in ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB & CSDM, network fundamentals, operating systems, compute environments, and scripting/programming. The candidate will ensure accurate and reliable configuration data is available to support business operations during this critical project period.Responsibilities : CMDB Management: Implement, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure data accuracy and integrity with design guidance and collaboration with the infrastructure operations team and the ServiceNow tool owner. Develop and enforce CMDB policies, business rules, standards, and procedure s. Perform regular audits and reconciliation of CMDB data to ensure compliance with organizational standards. ServiceNow Discovery: Set up discovery schedules, probes, and sensors. Suggest and reconcile best-use data sources for discovery. Configure and manage mid-servers and credentials in ServiceNow. Understand discovery patterns and create new patterns as needed. CMDB & CSDM: Manage CI classes and create relationships within the CMDB. Understand the structure of the CMDB and its alignment with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM). Suggest and develop automated processes to remove/retire stale CMDB data and relationships. Network Fundamentals: Apply knowledge of IP addresses, protocols, firewalls, and ports to support CMDB and discovery processes. Operating Systems & Compute Environments: Understand Windows/Linux administration and common services like DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory (AD), and how these services interoperate within the ServiceNow environment. Manage service accounts and ensure secure access to system s. Scripting & Programming: Utilize basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python to automate processes and enhance CMDB functionality. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure CMDB supports organizational goals. Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on CMDB processes and best practices. Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights into CMDB data. Monitor CMDB performance and provide recommendations for improvement. Configure and maintain the CMDB Health Dashboard. Basic Hiring Criteria : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with ServiceNow CMDB. Proven experience in ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, and Asset Management. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations. ServiceNow Discovery: Setting up schedules, probes, and sensors; mid-server configuration; managing credentials; understanding discovery patterns and creating them. ServiceNow CMDB & CSDM: CI classes and creating relationships; understanding the structure of the CMDB and its relation to the Common Services Data Model. Network Fundamentals: Understanding of IP addresses, protocols, firewalls, and ports. Operating Systems & Compute Environments: Windows/Linux administration; common services like DNS, DHCP, AD; ability to work with service accounts. Scripting & Programming: Basic knowledge of scripting in PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python. Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities and CMDB architecture. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required. ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations (DF) preferred. Desired Qualifications : Experience with ITIL frameworks and processes. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments. Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards. Knowledge or experience with ManageEngine OpManager, Microsoft SCCM, or other data integration sources. Benefits offered to vary by the contract.
