Job Title: Director of Logistics Position Summary The Director of Logistics will oversee all transportation, fleet, and logistics operations across the companies we manage, including Litlar Logistics, our in-house logistics company that provides transport and shipping services both internally and to external clients. This role is responsible for managing company vehicles, developing and implementing logistics strategies, and creating scalable systems to support current operations and future growth. This position requires an experienced professional who can take ownership of existing operations, evaluate what is working, identify gaps, and build a clear, efficient plan moving forward. Key Responsibilities Fleet & Vehicle Management Oversee all company-owned and leased vehicles across multiple entities Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, registered, and compliant with all applicable regulations Develop preventative maintenance schedules and cost-control measures Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and overall fleet efficiency Logistics & Transportation Operations Coordinate transport schedules, routing, and shipping timelines Ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials, equipment, and products Serve as the primary point of accountability for logistics performance Strategic Planning & Process Development Evaluate current logistics and fleet operations and develop a long-term improvement plan Create standardized processes, policies, and reporting systems Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase reliability Support scaling logistics operations as business demands grow Bottlenecking Information for Lyon-Miller Family of Companies Manage relationships with external carriers, service providers, and vendors Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements as needed Ensure vendors meet performance, safety, and compliance standards Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, insurance, and safety regulations Maintain accurate records for vehicles, drivers, inspections, and shipping documentation Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks Leadership & Communication Work closely with ownership and management teams across all companies Provide clear reporting on logistics performance, costs, and issues Lead or support logistics staff, drivers, or contractors as operations grow Needs to be excellent communicator Qualifications & Experience Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet management Strong understanding of vehicle operations, shipping, and transportation regulations Experience developing systems, processes, and long-term operational plans Ability to manage multiple companies or business units simultaneously Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Comfortable taking ownership and making informed decisions Excellent communication and coordination skills Geographic knowledge Preferred Qualifications Experience managing logistics for construction, manufacturing, or industrial operations Experience with third-party logistics (3PL) or operating a logistics service for external clients Familiarity with fleet management software or logistics tracking systems Position Type Full-time Management-level role with growth and leadership potential
