Job Relationships Department: Human Resources Supervisor: Director of Human Resources/Education Supervises: None Job Summary The Human Resources Generalist performs duties at the professional level and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, policies, recruiting, benefits, leaves of absence, employment, and compliance. Job Setting Hybrid. Orientation and onboarding will be conducted onsite, with a transition to a hybrid schedule based on position needs. Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The wage range for this position is $66,820.62-$94,334.99 annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position. Key Accountabilities Provides consultation, support and resources to leaders on employee relations, recruiting, benefits, compensation, performance management, and employee/organization development needs. Administers and tracks leave of absence requests, including FMLA, MN Paid Leave, Medical leave, and/or discretionary leaves. Supports and serves as subject matter expert on leave of absence administration ensuring compliance with leave laws to include ADA and FMLA. Answers all questions related to leave requests. Collaborates with HR team regarding requirements and policy changes related to leaves and time off (Earned Sick and Safe Time, Paid Time off, Sick Time, etc). Continuously monitors Leave of Absence employee payroll, tracking number of hours allowed for FMLA time. Tracks employee leave time for PERA purposes. Supports department leader by supporting, investigating and facilitating resolution to employee relations matters. Coordinates action plans with leaders relative to employee relations strategies. Employee Event Coordination and Planning Plans and coordinates employee events to reward and recognize employees. Engage and coordinate with vendors to ensure employee events are professional and attractive to employees. Recruitment Sources job candidates using a variety of means including networking, relationship-building, referrals, postings, social media and targeted marketing. Represents NH+C in career fairs and various recruitment and community events. Assesses, and screens qualified candidates for referral to hiring managers. Confirms selections with necessary validations and extends employment offers. Finalizes selection process, ensures pre-employment conditions are met and extends offers. Initiates on-boarding processes. Coordinates with HR team and NH+C leaders for successful onboarding. Participates and guides compensation discussion to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness. Provides guidance and interpretation of policies to employees and leaders, ensuring equitable, consistent, and correct application and administration of policies, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations. Coaches and guides managers on best practice employee relations, performance management, and other employment areas. Guides and supports leaders in the preparation and completion of Initial and Annual Performance Reviews. Represents Northfield Hospital + Clinics in unemployment compensation cases and prepares responses to UC claims. Drafts new and updates existing Human Resources policies.
