job summary: A Project Scheduler is needed for a world class utility company in the New Albany, OH area. This role focuses on developing, analyzing, and mentoring others on complex project schedules within the utility sector, requiring strong technical expertise in critical path methodology and the ability to integrate cost and risk data for senior management. location: New Albany, Ohio job type: Contract salary: $39.00 - 54.22 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Coordinate team activities and support Project Managers in executing major project schedules and commodity tracking. Develop complex, integrated schedules using critical path methodology, resource loading, and leveling. Define activity durations, work sequences, and relationship logic to establish key project milestones. Ensure all schedules meet internal department standards, guidance, and customer-specific detail requirements. Monitor schedule progress, collect data, and provide accurate status reports to senior management and stakeholders. Identify schedule risks and issues, recommending mitigation actions and what-if scenarios to maintain timelines. Mentor and train junior schedulers on metric reporting, risk analysis, and software procedures. Interface regularly with site execution teams, contractors, and company leadership to align project goals. Integrate schedule and cost data, including the performance of SPI/CPI (Schedule/Cost Performance Index) processes. Education and Experience: Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management. Qualified experience includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures. Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, working with accounting principles, and/or construction. Project Scheduler Senior: With a High School Diploma or GED, 6 years' qualified experience. With a qualified Associate's degree, 4 years' qualified experience. With a qualified Bachelor's degree, 2 years' qualified experience required. Project Scheduler Principle: With a High School Diploma or GED, 7 years' qualified experience. With a qualified Associate's degree, 5 years' qualified experience. With a qualified Bachelor's degree, 3 years' qualified experience required. License/Certifications: A professional or trade certification such as a CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, RMP, etc. is required for candidates possessing only a High school diploma or a non-qualified higher education degree.
