POSTING DATE: March 3, 2026 POSITION: Director of Student Services REPORTS TO: Superintendent QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree with a focus on special education required Michigan Teaching Certificate required Michigan Administrative Certification required Full approval as a Michigan Director of Special Education Previous special education teacher experience required Previous K-12 administrative experience preferred Knowledge and/or experience with implementing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Initiatives Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Supports and Interventions (PBIS) Strong understanding of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education, Individuals with Disabilities Act, and recent special education case law Experience with district and school improvement processes RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee all district special education programming, staffing, and compliance responsibilities Advise district and school administration on special education matters, including state and federal law and regulations Work collaboratively with the business office to manage special education funding, expenditures, and resources Mediate Individual Education Plans (IEP) and complaint resolutions as applicable Organize and facilitate district Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Initiatives Mentor and evaluate all district special education and ancillary staff Assist with school improvement planning and implementation Monitor, manage, and analyze student achievement data Update the Superintendent and the Board of Education on applicable special education and SEL matters Serve as the district 504 coordinator Serve as the district Title IX coordinator Perform all physical requirements of the position (standing, lifting, walking, etc.) Assume other duties as assigned by the Superintendent SALARY & BENEFITS: $109,225 - $117,060 base contract, depending on experience 220 scheduled workdays annually Annual annuity of 2.5% available for an "effective" evaluation Additional $3,882 offered annually for a Doctorate Degree $600 annual mileage stipend Comprehensive retirement and health benefits packages (or $5,000 cash in lieu of health insurance) Annual paid time off, as follows: 5 Personal Days, 12 Sick Days, 11 Paid Holidays Longevity available, once eligible Retirement incentives; sick bank payout available up to $15,000 upon retirement, if qualified STARTING DATE: August 2026 SEND LETTER OF INTEREST AND RESUME TO OR APPLY ONLINE @: Williamston Community Schools ATTN: Director of Student Services 418 Highland Street Williamston, MI 48895 jobs.redroverk12.com/org/1121 DEADLINE: April 13, 2026 @ 3:00 pm TIMELINE: March 3, 2026 - Position Posted April 13, 2026 @ 3:00 pm - Position Closes Week of April 27, 2026 - First Round Interviews Week of May 4, 2026 - Second Round Interviews Week of May 11, 2026 - Third Round Interviews May 18, 2026 - Recommendation to the Board of Education Williamston Community Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer
