Facility Specific Requirement: Cannot accept local candidates that live within 50 miles of the facility. As a surgical services nurse at MidMichigan Health, you will work inside state-of-the-art operating rooms with highly skilled, close-knit medical teams. You will be an essential part of delivering outstanding patient-centered care. Surgical services nurses play important roles in coordinating surgeries and maintaining patient safety. The nurse ensures that a patient is prepared to enter surgery, and assess the patient's condition during and after the procedure. Surgical services nurses are often responsible for leading a team inside the operating room, helping make efficient use of time and resources. The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN provides interventions to treat the presenting symptoms and evaluates the effect of nursing interventions and patient's responses. The RN functions as a team leader/member and resource to others. The RN delegates, oversees and provides direction to support staff. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to establish goals and outcomes for each patient. The RN is responsible for meeting the needs of all types of patients.
