Description: Patient diagnoses include strokes, seizures, subdural hematoma, brain tumors, neurosurgical interventions, neuromuscular disorders, and post-arrest cases. Special procedures include post-procedure monitoring after TPA, thrombectomy, pipeline stent placement, and cerebral aneurysm coiling or clipping. Bedside procedures involve intubation, arterial and central line placement, and external ventricular drain (EVD) management. Responsibilities include post-procedural monitoring of aneurysm clipping or coiling, craniotomy, and administration of TPA or Tenectaplase. Required equipment includes BIS, TOF, Arctic Sun, EEG, FloTrac, arterial lines, central lines, and Zoll intravascular cooling. The patient ratio is 1:2. EPIC experience is required. The position does not accept first-time travelers. Preferred certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Candidates must have experience with accessing and managing ports, traumatic brain injury, BiPAP/CPAP management, suctioning, and ventilator management. Care for ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), and infection prevention is essential. Teamwork with interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy, is expected. Daily census is approximately 34 patients with 34 beds available. The unit prioritizes infection prevention, isolation precautions, and surgical wound management.
