Team Red Dog is seeking a Product UX Researcher (Technical Focus) to support our client, a user experience-driven organization and global digital experience innovator, in delivering AI-first development tools and platforms that empower millions of developers worldwide. This hybrid role in Redmond, WA offers the opportunity to shape the future of Visual Studio, Azure, GitHub Copilot, and .NET through impactful qualitative and quantitative UX research across cutting-edge developer ecosystems. Top Required Skills (Must Haves): 4+ years of experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, focus groups, and field research across multiple product stages. 4+ years of experience in a technical environment, preferably within the technology industry, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams. Strong technical aptitude, ideally including familiarity with coding or developer platforms, enabling meaningful engagement with technical stakeholders and users. A portfolio of previous research work that clearly demonstrates impact, role ownership, research approach, and measurable outcomes. Opportunity Overview: This role offers the opportunity to influence some of the most widely used developer products in the world. You will join a team of 20+ UX researchers dedicated to shaping product direction and designing end-to-end experiences that are useful, usable, and desirable. Working in a modern research lab facility and within an agile development environment, you will help integrate AI-assisted workflows and next-generation development tools into real-world engineering practices. This position provides strong mentorship from a Senior UX Researcher and clear career growth pathways within a high-impact organization. How you will make an impact: Design and execute qualitative and quantitative UX research across all stages of product development, from concept to release Conduct lab-based usability tests, interviews, surveys, focus groups, and field research Translate research findings into actionable product recommendations Triangulate multiple data sources into integrated insights that inform strategic decisions Partner closely with engineering, design, product management, and business teams Present and evangelize research findings to stakeholders and leadership Support agile release cycles while contributing to long-term product strategy Coach cross-functional partners on UX research best practices The expertise you bring: 2-4 years of overall experience in UX research or related field Degree in human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, behavioral science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Strong knowledge of diverse UX research methodologies and approaches Demonstrated ability to synthesize research data into clear product insights Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent research initiatives Ability to adapt quickly to new technical domains and evolving priorities Familiarity with modern developer platforms and ecosystems or strong aptitude for learning new technologies Commitment to diversity and inclusivity in research practices What makes a candidate highly successful in this role: Balanced experience across both qualitative and quantitative research methods A strong technical foundation that enables deep understanding of developer workflows Ability to independently own research initiatives while collaborating effectively across teams Clear examples of translating research into measurable product impact Strong portfolio storytelling that articulates your role, decisions made, and outcomes achieved Why Work with Team Red Dog?
