This position exists to help implement MnDOT's ADA Transition Plan throughout the Department in both design and construction capacities.Minimum QualificationsLicensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment).ANDThree (3) years of post-registration engineering experience at the Engineer Senior level (or equivalent) that demonstrates all the following: Experience implementing Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines and standards. Experience in the design of accessible pedestrian facilities including curb ramps, sidewalks, and accessible pedestrian signals. Experience with road design standards, construction specifications and detail plan requirements, content, and organization. Experience with roadway design principles, engineering, and construction practices. Valid Class D Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the technical areas that are impacted by ADA such as: planning, design, construction, materials, and maintenance. Experience with construction and contract administration of ADA facilities. Physical RequirementsWhile performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work outside exposed to weather elements, both cold and hot. The employee will occasionally drive a motor vehicle. Periodically, the employee will walk on uneven/sloping grounds.
