Senior Customs Entry Writer This role is responsible for processing of import transactions, providing and maintaining effective customer service and assisting with other duties as needed. We are seeking an experienced Senior Customs Entry Writer with a strong background in pharmaceutical imports. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in FDA regulations and DEA compliance requirements, with hands-on experience handling controlled substances, life sciences products, and temperature-sensitive shipments. This role requires a solid understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, tariff classification, and government agency filings, along with the ability to manage time-critical and compliance-driven entries with precision. Experience or a general working knowledge of chemicals and related commodities is strongly preferred, including familiarity with associated regulatory considerations and documentation requirements. The right candidate will be a proactive, energetic individual who enjoys problem solving and has a real passion for the logistics industry. Working with our friendly, outgoing and committed freight family, this role is essential to achieving the Company's success. Receive, review and process import documentation from overseas agents/customers. Handle bookings from oversees agents and coordinate the move to destination. Knowledge of various transportation modes including air freight, LCL, FCL as well as knowledge of domestic trucking and rail movements. Understand agent fees and pricing per client in order to process invoices accurately. Follow company protocol for billing a file. Update shipment status, issue arrival notice and obtain entry documents for customs entries. Communicate with customs brokers to confirm customs release status. Prepare customs entries. Arrange freight release with steamship lines and confirm cargo availability. Respond in a timely manner to customer requests on shipment status by phone or email. Refer customers to your supervisor or manager when questions are beyond scope of responsibility. Follow up bookings received from overseas agents and customers. Open import and manage files Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations. Advise your supervisor or manager of any transaction problems and irregularities. Perform any other related tasks as required or assigned by your supervisor or manager. Must have a High School diploma, an Associate degree or higher is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of freight forwarding experience. Proficient in Cargo Wise, Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel. Must have a pro-active attitude and strong time management skills. Extremely detailed oriented and well organized. Must be a team player as well as work independently. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Great customer service skills. Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment.
