PTP Specialist - "Buyer" Location: Clayton NC Flexibility: Hybrid Position Summary The PTP Specialist manages the procurement of goods and services in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include reviewing requisitions, creating and processing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving discrepancies to ensure smooth and efficient purchasing operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned. Manages the end-to-end acquisition of goods and services. Reviews and verifies purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness. Creates and processes purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner. Communicates with suppliers to confirm order details and ensure timely, accurate delivery. Identifies and resolves discrepancies or issues that arise during the purchasing process. Performs tasks or responsibilities of lower professional levels when necessary. Informs direct manager of any incidents occurring during normal work processes. Monitors adherence to defined quality, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Detail-oriented team player with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. ERP system experience (preferably SAP). Contract development and contract management experience is a plus. Demonstrated cost-savings achievements and project management experience. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge and application of work standards (GMP, PNT, INS, BPL, etc.). Commitment to continuous improvement and process enhancement. Required Experience and Education: Associate Degree or equivalent experience. Professional certification strongly preferred (C.P.M., CPSM, CPSD, CIPM, CIRM). 5 years of related experience. Compliance with required records, if any. Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate's degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience. Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
