The NHMLAC is seeking a Payroll Coordinator for our Finance department. The Payroll Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the Payroll Manager in the execution of the organization's payroll function. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Payroll: Assists Payroll Manager in the accurate semi-monthly payroll for Foundation employees, reviews timesheets for completeness and accuracy, and assists in the resolution of routine payroll problems. Processes manual checks, payroll garnishments and court orders. Assists the Payroll Manager with the relationship with payroll service provider. Processes accurate and timely year-end report such as the W-2 Form. Submits County semi-monthly timesheets to Shared Services for processing. Leave Records: Maintains accrual records related to vacation, sick and floating holidays within maximum amounts available to employees as outlined in the Human Resources Policies. Assists with the audit and reconciliation of paid time off accruals for financial statements. Coordinates data entry of such records with other human resources staff. Retirement Records: Assists the Payroll Manager as the main contact for employees with loan and inquiries about their 403(b) and works closely with recordkeeper, auditor, advisor to manage the 403(b) and 457 plan. Payroll Communication: Assists the Payroll Manager in maintaining internal controls and conducting regular audits to ensure completeness. Communicates payroll corrections to supervisors and employees with tact, clarity and excellent customer service. Payroll Records and Reports: Maintains payroll records, timesheets, and backup documentation consistent with recommended financial standards. Produces ongoing and special reports as requested. Payroll Auditing: Assists the Payroll Manager in performing all requested and required payroll audits including but not limited to regular audits of payroll taxes, employee 403(b) contributions, time off accruals, payroll systems and changes to employee status. Prepares documents and records in response to federal and regulatory payroll requirements in coordination with Finance. This position has the following requirements: Communication: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to proofread documents. Computer Experience: Has experience using a personal computer and with MS Office and its Word, Excel and Outlook functions (PC and/or Macintosh). Payroll Experience: Has experience with payroll systems and database software. Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred Associate Degree or higher with a concentration in Accounting and/or Business Administration. CPP preferred but not required Three years of payroll processing experience required. Two years of accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
