Facility: This healthcare system serves as a comprehensive medical center providing advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical services to the regional community. The facility features a 6-bed specialized department with level 3 trauma capabilities and level 2 pediatric services, ensuring high-quality patient care and excellent clinical resources. Opportunity: Physician - Thoracic Surgery - Cardio Thoracic Surgery Job Details: • Coverage dates include May 8-18 and June 11-15 with additional 3-5 weeks of future assignments • Schedule includes 8-hour shifts starting at 7am plus after-hour call responsibilities • Weekend coverage involves call duties with minimal rounding for in-house patients • Perform comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including open and endoscopic approaches • Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery both on-pump and off-pump techniques • Manage congenital defects including ASD, VSD, and PFO repairs • Perform valvular repair and replacement procedures • Handle cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repairs • Conduct lung resections including VATS procedures • Manage chest wall, pleural, esophageal, and diaphragm surgeries • Place permanent pacemakers and AICDs • Install and manage left ventricular assist devices • Perform TAVR and CABG procedures • Provide ventilator management and bronchoscopy services • Handle acute volume and blood pressure management • Insert central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABPs • Perform comprehensive vascular surgery including open and endovascular approaches • Conduct bypass procedures including aorto-femoral, iliac, and fem-pop • Perform endarterectomy procedures including carotid and renal • Must be board certified with active Ohio medical license • Requires ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications • Credentialing timeframe approximately 40 days Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
