Job Summary Responsible for complex functions including overall clerical and secretarial coordination. Individuals must work in an atmosphere characterized by frequent interruptions and must make a variety of independent decisions required for the non-instructional management of a building in the absence of the principal. Under general direction, provide a variety of responsible secretarial support services to the administration of an assigned school and assist in maintaining the day-to-day operation of a school office. Work requires independent judgment and initiative supervised by a school site administrator within the framework of standard policies and procedures. May train and direct the work of student assistants and/or other office personnel. Emphasis is placed upon a variety of public relations and "people contact" activities and communication skills, as well as clerical/secretarial skills.
